Colour for Cancer

Charity is always close to our hearts. Our salon manager had a guest who was diagnosed with cancer in 2013. She died shortly after and Olivia felt so strongly about supporting her family that she asked us if we could hold an event. Colour for Cancer was born.

We have been running this annual event since 2013 and have raised over £12000 for Cancer Charities. We invite guests to be brave and chop their locks, shave their heads or go a bold colour, they get sponsors and support from their friends and family, who are all invited on the day. We have live music from local musicians alongside barbecue and drinks in the salon garden.

Every year is a fantastic day, there is always lots of fun, and a few tears as we talk to people about why they were here. Some battling cancer themselves, some who have lost loved ones, some who are survivors. We also donate hair to The Little Princess Trust. They make wigs and hairpieces for children going through chemotherapy. This has become extremely popular that we have now developed a specific service for this. Guests agree to have their hair chopped (minimum 7 inches off) and we take care of all the rest, posting over 150 bunches of hair last year alone. This has been featured various times in our local paper.

If this wasn’t enough every year, we also run marathons dressed as pantomime horses, do cycle feats (like around Ibiza), bungee jump, throw numerous events, bake cakes, donate over 100 vouchers to school fetes and events and much much more to help various charities and causes.
